TAFES thanks God for the commitment to scriptural engagement and emphasis on Christian values shown by staff, students and graduates. They are also grateful for the life-transforming effects of their national Discipleship Training Seminar (DTS), an annual Easter conference that helps students to develop Christian character and convictions based on the word of God.
They also organise Go Conference, held every two years, which equips students for missions, and the Leadership Development Seminar (LTS), which prepares students for leadership in their campus groups at a regional and national level.
High staff turnover has been a recurring challenge for a number of years. TAFES continues in prayer for committed, long-term staff.

Matthew Massawe, TAFES National Director says, ‘Being in student ministry is such a noble assignment. It focuses on transforming and defining the destiny of any given nation: transforming students is transforming a nation.’
Matthew’s ministry and vision have been inspired by IFES VISION 2020, specifically the strategic priority of communicating the good news of Jesus Christ on campuses. He believes that without sharing the good news there can never be any progress and growth in any movement.
- for God to send more long term staff;
- for a sustainable financial income;
- for the conferences to make a lasting impact amongst students;
- for God to continually use TAFES to champion unity in the body of Christ in Tanzania.
